| Finally FOUND!
Here are some photos that were sent in to me a few years ago from a
member of the Waterloo Quoit Club in Waterloo, New York. I lost
these photos for over 2 years but have now finally re-discovered them,
only by accident. Unfortunately, I no longer have the name or email
address of the person who sent them to me, so I do not have any
information for the pictures themselves. If you are familiar with this
group, PLEASE email me at the address on the home page of this site and
let me know. I really want to get in touch with a current member
to help complete this page with names and club information.
The Waterloo Quoit Club has six sets of pits and a small club building/pavilion. If my memory serves me, it is located at the rear of a local bar in town. In the photos, you can see they have a large, permanent setup, including grass carpet, rubber pit coverings, white clay, large peg boards on the walls to keep track of the scores, and even a beer sponsor, according to the banner on the wall. The Quoits they use are very interesting, having very large, raised numbers 1 and 2 on the top right side of each quoit - I need a set of those for my personal quoit collection! |
